The Suprema BioStation 3 is an advanced AI-powered facial recognition access control terminal designed to deliver fast, secure and fully contactless authentication for modern workplaces and high-security facilities. Its NPU-optimized facial recognition engine can identify users in less than 0.2 seconds, with an authentication distance of approximately 0.3 to 1 metre, while live-face detection helps protect against spoofing attempts using photographs or other fake facial images. BioStation 3 supports multiple credential methods including facial recognition, RFID cards, mobile credentials through NFC and Bluetooth, QR/barcodes and PIN authentication, allowing organizations to implement either convenient single-factor access or stronger multi-factor authentication. Depending on the model, supported RFID technologies include 125 kHz EM/HID Prox and 13.56 MHz MIFARE, MIFARE Plus, DESFire EV1/EV2/EV3, FeliCa, iCLASS SE/SR and Seos. The BioStation 3 is engineered for both large-scale deployment and strong security, supporting up to 100,000 users, up to 50,000 facial credentials for 1 matching, and up to 100,000 face, card and PIN credentials for 1:1 authentication configurations. It offers Gigabit Ethernet, RS-485 with OSDP V2 support, Wiegand input/output, and selected models provide Wi-Fi and PoE+, allowing network communication and power to be delivered through a single cable. Integrated VoIP intercom and RTSP video streaming can also support visitor communication and real-time monitoring at access points. Security features include a dedicated crypto chip, secure boot, secure tamper protection and privacy-focused options such as Face Template on Mobile, where biometric templates can remain stored on the user's mobile device instead of a centralized database.
