The Panasonic VL-SWD275CX Wireless Video Intercom System is a highly expandable door-entry solution designed for villas, townhouses, offices and residential properties where users need both fixed indoor monitoring and the convenience of a portable wireless handset. The standard system includes the VL-MWD275 main monitor, VL-V524L door station and VL-WD619 DECT wireless monitor. The main monitor features a 7-inch WVGA colour display (800 × 480) with touch-sensor keys and hands-free communication, while the outdoor station uses an approximately 1.3 MP CMOS camera with an 85° horizontal / 54° vertical viewing angle and LED-assisted night viewing. The system can automatically record visitor images in internal memory—up to 50 visitor sessions with as many as four still images per session—and includes practical functions such as one-touch voice changer, electric-lock release, intercom calling, selectable English/Arabic interface and Panasonic PBX compatibility. The outdoor station is rated IP44 when correctly installed, and Panasonic’s non-polarized 2-wire connection helps simplify installation and upgrading from suitable existing doorbell wiring. A major advantage of the VL-SWD275CX is its system expandability. Panasonic specifies support for up to two door stations and three wired extension monitors in addition to the main monitor, as well as up to six registered wireless/extension monitors in total and as many as two optional wireless repeaters for extending DECT coverage. The included VL-WD619 cordless wireless monitor features a 2.2-inch QVGA colour display (320 × 240), rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, approximately 80 hours of standby operation, and a stated communication range of approximately 100 metres line-of-sight from the main monitor. Users can answer visitors, communicate internally and access supported door-opening functions while moving around the property instead of being limited to the wall-mounted main monitor. The system also supports up to two electric-lock releases, subject to the system configuration, giving it additional flexibility for properties with separate pedestrian entrances or access points.
