The Suprema BioEntry R2 is a compact fingerprint and RFID reader designed specifically for centralized access control systems. Its slim mullion-style design makes it ideal for installation on narrow door frames while delivering high-quality biometric authentication. BioEntry R2 features a 500 dpi fingerprint sensor with Suprema’s advanced fingerprint recognition technology and supports standard biometric template formats including SUPREMA, ISO 19794-2 and ANSI-378. It also supports dual-frequency RFID credentials, including 125 kHz EM and 13.56 MHz MIFARE, MIFARE Plus, DESFire, DESFire EV1/EV2/EV3 and FeliCa, together with NFC credential support. A major advantage of the BioEntry R2 is its centralized architecture. Rather than storing and processing all access-control information independently at the door, it is designed to operate with Suprema’s intelligent biometric controller, such as CoreStation, providing centralized biometric matching and access management. The reader includes a 1.0 GHz processor, cryptographic security chip, multi-colour LED indicator, multi-tone buzzer and tamper detection, while communication is provided through RS-485 with OSDP V2 compliance. It operates on 12 VDC, measures approximately 50.1 × 164 × 38 mm, and works across an operating temperature range of -20°C to +50°C. This architecture makes BioEntry R2 particularly effective for corporate and enterprise environments where multiple biometric doors need to be securely managed through a centralized access-control infrastructure.
