The Suprema BioStation A2 is a high-performance fingerprint access control and time-attendance terminal designed for enterprise environments requiring fast biometric verification, high user capacity and flexible system integration. It features a 1.0 GHz quad-core processor, 8 GB flash memory with 1 GB RAM, and a large 5-inch colour TFT touchscreen for an intuitive user experience. The terminal supports up to 500,000 users, up to 100,000 fingerprint credentials for 1:N identification, and up to 500,000 fingerprint, card and PIN credentials for 1:1 authentication. It also incorporates hardware-based Live Finger Detection (LFD) to help distinguish genuine fingerprints from artificial fingerprint attempts, improving biometric security in sensitive access-control environments. The BioStation A2 provides extensive connectivity and integration capabilities for both access control and attendance applications. It supports 10/100 Ethernet, built-in Wi-Fi, RS-485 with OSDP V2 compliance, Wiegand input/output, USB 2.0 and microSD cards up to 32 GB, while IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) can simplify installation by providing power and network connectivity over the same cable. Depending on the model, it supports credential technologies including EM, HID Prox, MIFARE, MIFARE Plus, DESFire/EV1 and FeliCa, and can store up to 5 million event records. The device also includes two relay outputs, additional digital inputs, tamper detection, voice/audio feedback and a dedicated security architecture suitable for demanding enterprise access-control deployments.
