Overview
The CAME 605-S Motor-Driven Swing Turnstile is designed specifically for accessible pedestrian passage, including wheelchair users, visitors with pushchairs and sites that require a wider controlled-access lane alongside standard turnstiles. The unit uses a motor-driven bi-directional DC mechanism and is manufactured in AISI 304 stainless steel, with AISI 316 and alternative finishes available depending on project requirements. Its swing wing uses a Ø33.7 × 1.5 mm stainless-steel frame with an acrylic infill panel, and CAME offers standard wing lengths of 450 mm or 900 mm. Power is supplied from 110/220–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, with internal 24 VDC operation, while opening and closing typically takes around 1.5–2.5 seconds. The controller accepts standard access-control dry-contact or grounding outputs, and optional RS232, RS485 and TCP/IP interfaces are available. For outdoor applications CAME specifies IP54, optionally IP56, with operating temperatures from approximately -20°C to +68°C; an optional heater allows use in still colder environments. Importantly, the system allows free passage in emergency mode or during a power failure, making it suitable for accessible egress routes. The related CAME 605-D is the double-sided version of the same accessible swing-gate platform. Instead of controlling only one passage side, it is equipped with two swing wings, each available in 450 mm or 900 mm standard lengths, allowing one central pedestal to control passage on both sides. CAME specifies the same AISI 304 construction, optional AISI 316, motor-driven bi-directional operation, approximately 1.5–2.5 second wing movement, dry-contact access-control compatibility and optional RS232/RS485/TCP-IP communications. The 605-D effectively provides two accessible passages from one central unit, which can be useful where space and equipment count need to be optimized. Both 605-S and 605-D can be combined with RFID readers, biometric terminals, QR-code readers, coin systems, remote-control units, counters, alarm sensors, card-reader poles, pipe barriers and PC interfaces, enabling them to work either as standalone accessible gates or alongside conventional tripod turnstiles in a larger entrance-control system. As an organized CAME partner and system integrator across the Middle East, VEGA Digital IT Solutions LLC can provide complete implementation of the 605-S and 605-D, beginning with site survey, accessibility and pedestrian-flow assessment, passage-width selection and floor preparation, followed by mechanical installation, mains/control cabling, access-controller integration and final programming. VEGA Digital can integrate the gates with RFID and smart-card readers, facial or fingerprint terminals, QR visitor systems, reception controls, visitor-management software and fire-alarm/emergency-release interfaces, while optional serial or TCP/IP modules can be used where centralized monitoring is required. Final commissioning can include swing-angle and timing adjustment, reader authorization testing, emergency/free-passage verification, power-failure testing, obstruction checks and operator training, providing a complete CAME accessible pedestrian-gate and access-control solution for corporate buildings, hospitals, hotels, transport facilities, government sites and commercial developments throughout the Middle East.
