Overview
The CAME SG55 Speed Gate is a premium bi-directional motor-driven pedestrian speed gate with sliding glass wings, designed for corporate offices, commercial towers, hotels, government facilities, transport hubs and other controlled-access environments. The enclosure is manufactured from AISI 304 brushed stainless steel, with AISI 316 available as an option, and incorporates a black tempered-glass top with illuminated tempered-glass sliding wings. CAME offers glass-wing heights of approximately 900, 1200 or 2000 mm, allowing the gate to be specified according to the security level of the project. The SG55 is designed for master/slave paired operation and provides a standard 550 mm clear passage, with single, double and combined configurations available for multi-lane entrances. Integrated infrared sensors continuously monitor pedestrian passage, while side status indicators and top passage indicators provide clear visual guidance. Operating modes can be configured for free or controlled passage in either direction, and the gate can accept third-party access-control readers through dry-contact inputs/outputs. Optional communication modules support RS232, RS485 and TCP/IP, and in the event of a power failure, the built-in batteries automatically open the wings to clear the lane for emergency egress. CAME’s technical documentation also lists operating temperatures around -20°C to +68°C, continuous-duty operation and typical pedestrian flow in the region of 25–50 passages per minute, depending on credential-reading and access-control response times. The related CAME SG90 uses the same sliding-wing architecture, premium stainless-steel construction, illuminated tempered-glass wings, infrared passage monitoring, visual status indicators, battery-assisted emergency opening and third-party access-control compatibility, but is configured for a significantly wider 900 mm pedestrian passage. This makes SG90 particularly suitable for wheelchair users, passengers with luggage, delivery trolleys and other accessible entrance requirements, while SG55 is optimized for normal pedestrian lanes where a more compact 550 mm passage is preferred. Like SG55, the SG90 can be supplied in single, double and combined multi-lane layouts, with glass-wing height options of approximately 900, 1200 and 2000 mm, selectable free/controlled operating modes and optional RS232, RS485 or TCP/IP communication interfaces. A typical lobby design can therefore combine several SG55 standard lanes with one SG90 accessible lane, maintaining a consistent appearance and common access-control architecture across the complete entrance. Both models are intended to integrate with RFID/card readers, biometric terminals, QR-code readers, visitor-management systems and other third-party credential technologies, making them suitable for projects ranging from corporate reception areas to high-security commercial facilities. As a CAME system integrator serving Dubai and the UAE, VEGA Digital IT Solutions LLC can provide complete SG55 and SG90 implementation from initial site survey and pedestrian-flow planning through lane configuration, floor preparation, installation templates, mechanical mounting, power cabling and master/slave commissioning. VEGA Digital can integrate the speed gates with RFID or smart-card readers, fingerprint and facial-recognition terminals, QR visitor credentials, access controllers, reception/visitor-management platforms and fire-alarm or emergency-release systems, while optional serial or TCP/IP modules can be incorporated when centralized monitoring or higher-level building integration is required. Multi-lane projects can be engineered with 550 mm SG55 lanes and 900 mm SG90 accessible lanes, together with appropriate glass-wing heights and free/controlled direction settings. Final commissioning can include infrared-sensor calibration, passage-direction programming, anti-tailgating and obstruction testing, credential-reader verification, emergency battery-opening tests, access-control interface testing and operator training, providing a professionally integrated CAME pedestrian speed-gate and access-control solution for corporate headquarters, commercial towers, hotels, government buildings and premium facilities throughout Dubai and the UAE.
