Overview
The Hikvision DS-2CD2346G3D-IZ2UY/S(L)(RB) is a professional 4 MP dual-lens fixed-point zoom turret network camera designed for projects where two independent surveillance views are required from a single camera position. The camera provides two independent 4 MP channels through one network cable and one IP address, with each channel delivering up to 2688 × 1520 resolution. Both imaging modules use 1/3-inch Progressive Scan CMOS sensors and Hikvision Powered by DarkFighter technology, providing colour images down to approximately 0.001 lux at F1.6 and 0 lux with IR illumination. Each lens can operate at 2.8 mm or 4 mm, giving approximately 99.3° horizontal coverage at 2.8 mm and 80° at 4 mm, while the two independently adjustable heads allow one unit to monitor two directions or two different areas. Smart IR illumination reaches approximately 30 metres, and Hikvision AcuSense deep-learning analytics support human and vehicle classification, line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exit detection to reduce nuisance alarms. Other major features include H.265/H.264 compression, up to 512 GB microSD storage, arrayed dual microphones, built-in speaker, alarm I/O, active strobe-light and audible-warning functions, and an anti-corrosion NEMA 4X design. For VEGA Digital IT Solutions LLC, as a SIRA-approved CCTV camera supplier and security-system integrator in Dubai, this dual-lens architecture is especially valuable for entrances, reception areas, corridors, parking approaches, warehouses, loading areas and other locations where the SIRA-approved CCTV design requires multiple viewing directions. From the SIRA perspective, camera selection is not based only on resolution: Dubai's published technical requirements specify visible security cameras, outdoor protection of at least IP66, at least 110 dB WDR where cameras face strong natural or artificial light, and remote zoom/focus capability for cameras installed at heights of 4 metres or above. Audio-recording capability also requires specific SIRA permission. Therefore, even though this Hikvision model has strong professional specifications, VEGA Digital should verify the exact SKU and current SIRA equipment approval certificate during project submission rather than assuming that every variant under the model family automatically carries SIRA approval; SIRA formally examines and certifies camera equipment before it is used within approved Dubai security systems. The related Hikvision DS-2CD2T46G3-IZS2UY/S(L)(RB) is a 4 MP AcuSense motorized varifocal bullet network camera better suited to applications requiring a conventional directional surveillance view and a longer nighttime monitoring distance. It uses a 1/3-inch Progressive Scan CMOS sensor with up to 2688 × 1520 resolution, a motorized 2.8–4 mm lens, approximately 99.3° horizontal field of view at 2.8 mm and 80° at 4 mm, and IR illumination up to 60 metres. Its Powered by DarkFighter imaging provides colour performance down to around 0.001 lux, while 130 dB WDR, BLC, HLC and 3D DNR improve visibility in entrances, vehicle gates, loading bays and other challenging lighting conditions. It supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 compression, up to 512 GB local microSD storage, AcuSense human/vehicle classification, arrayed dual microphones, speaker, alarm I/O and active strobe/audible deterrence depending on the selected /SL or /SRB variant. The enclosure carries IP67 weather resistance and NEMA 4X anti-corrosion protection, making it particularly suitable for Dubai's outdoor environmental conditions. For SIRA-regulated projects, the motorized lens is an important advantage where the approved layout requires remote adjustment of the surveillance view, particularly for higher mounting locations. Its 130 dB WDR exceeds SIRA's published 110 dB minimum for cameras facing strong light sources, and IP67 exceeds the published IP66 minimum for outdoor cameras. However, the built-in microphones should not automatically be enabled for recording, because SIRA's published requirements prohibit camera audio recording unless permission has been obtained.VEGA Digital can therefore select the DS-2CD2346G3D-IZ2UY/S(L)(RB) when two independent views from one installation point are beneficial and the DS-2CD2T46G3-IZS2UY/S(L)(RB) where longer-range, directional surveillance is required, while ensuring that the particular camera model, suffix and firmware configuration correspond to the equipment accepted for the specific SIRA project. For a SIRA-approved CCTV system installation, VEGA Digital should begin with a detailed site survey and security design covering all mandatory surveillance locations, entrances and exits, cash-handling or sensitive areas where applicable, public and restricted zones, perimeter areas, vehicle access points, blind spots, mounting heights, required identification/recognition distances, lighting conditions, network topology, recording duration, storage calculations, UPS backup and control-room requirements. The proposed CCTV layout must then form part of the project's SIRA Security Plan Certificate process; SIRA requires camera/alarm-system plans to be submitted for certification, and the final security-system certification requires an approved Security Plan Certificate together with a successful security audit. During installation, VEGA Digital can mount the DS-2CD2346G3D dual-lens cameras where two viewing directions are required and the DS-2CD2T46G3 bullet cameras where longer-range coverage is needed, using suitable Hikvision junction boxes and brackets, properly protected CAT6/fibre infrastructure, managed PoE/PoE+ switching, Hikvision NVRs or compatible recording servers, UPS systems and secure network segmentation. Engineers then configure resolution, frame rate, H.265+, WDR, IR/day-night operation, remote lens adjustment, privacy masks, AcuSense human/vehicle rules, recording schedules, event alarms and cybersecurity settings; microphone recording should remain disabled unless SIRA approval specifically covers audio. Final commissioning should verify daytime and nighttime image quality, actual identification coverage, WDR performance, recording and playback, required storage retention, NVR redundancy where specified, time synchronization, UPS operation, network-failure behaviour and all SIRA-required camera views. VEGA Digital can then prepare the as-built drawings, camera schedules, equipment certificates and commissioning records required for inspection, ensuring that the project is delivered not simply with Hikvision equipment but as a complete SIRA-compliant CCTV system designed, installed, tested and documented for Dubai regulatory approval.
