Overview
The FAAC B680H Automatic Barrier is a premium 24 V hybrid vehicle-access barrier engineered for intensive and continuous operation at commercial car parks, corporate entrances, residential communities, hotels, industrial sites and high-traffic facilities. Its key advantage is the combination of a 36 V DC brushless motor with FAAC hydraulic technology, giving the system smooth movement, high reliability and a 100% duty cycle. FAAC specifies boom lengths from approximately 2 m to 8 m, with opening times ranging from about 1.5 seconds for a 2 m boom to 6 seconds for an 8 m boom. The B680H incorporates an absolute encoder for precise position monitoring, controlled deceleration and obstacle detection with boom reversal, while its long-life balancing springs are designed for more than 2 million operating cycles. A wide-range 100–240 VAC switching power supply helps the barrier tolerate varying mains conditions, and the removable cabinet is available in multiple RAL colours or stainless steel for premium architectural installations. The B680H is designed as a single flexible platform capable of handling both short high-speed lanes and much wider entrances without requiring a completely different barrier architecture. FAAC’s hybrid drive enables long or short booms to operate at comparatively high speed while maintaining continuous-cycle capability, making the model particularly suitable for large residential developments, business parks, airports, hospitals, logistics facilities and busy parking areas. The system can be configured with different boom lengths and accessories and can work with safety photocells, vehicle-detection loops, flashing or traffic lights, RFID/UHF readers and other access-control equipment. Its encoder-based movement control improves boom positioning and helps satisfy anti-crushing and obstacle-reversal requirements, while the hybrid hydraulic mechanism contributes to quiet and refined movement. FAAC positions the B680H as its intensive-use barrier within a wider automatic-barrier range that covers openings from 2 to 8 metres and applications from residential sites to high-frequency commercial entrances. As a FAAC system integrator serving the Middle East, VEGA Digital IT Solutions LLC can provide complete B680H deployment beginning with site survey, lane-width and traffic-flow assessment, boom-length selection and preparation of the reinforced concrete foundation. Installation can include barrier cabinet anchoring, 100–240 VAC mains connection, low-voltage control cabling, boom assembly and balancing, photocells, induction-loop detectors, traffic lights, safety devices and backup or control accessories where specified. VEGA Digital can also integrate the B680H with ANPR/LPR cameras, UHF/RFID vehicle readers, intercoms, visitor-management platforms, parking-management software and centralized access-control systems; FAAC has documented B680H installations integrated with licence-plate recognition and centralized access management. Final commissioning can include encoder calibration, opening/closing timing, obstacle-reversal testing, loop and photocell adjustment, access-authorization checks, manual/emergency operation and operator training, providing a complete FAAC B680H vehicle-access solution for high-traffic projects across Dubai, the UAE and the wider Middle East.
