HID Signo 20 PIV Reader

The HID Signo 20 PIV Reader is a compact, high-security contactless smart card reader designed for organizations that require strong identity authentication and compliance-focused physical access control. Its narrow mullion-mount form factor makes it ideal for door frames and installations where space is limited. Built on HID’s Signo platform, the reader supports a broad range of PKI-based FIPS-201 credentials, including PIV, PIV-I, CIV, CAC, TWIC and FRAC, making it particularly suitable for government facilities, critical infrastructure, enterprises and other high-security environments. When used with HID pivCLASS Authentication solutions, the Signo 20 PIV supports strong card authentication and high-assurance access control aligned with FIPS 201 requirements. Designed for excellent performance and flexible migration, the HID Signo 20 PIV Reader supports both modern and legacy credential technologies. It works with 13.56 MHz credentials including Seos, iCLASS SE, iCLASS, MIFARE DESFire EV1/EV2 and MIFARE Classic, while also supporting 125 kHz technologies such as HID Prox, Indala Prox, Dorado Prox and EM Prox. Integration is supported through OSDP and Wiegand, allowing the reader to work with a wide variety of physical access control systems and existing security infrastructures. As part of the HID pivCLASS architecture, it is designed to meet assurance-level requirements defined in NIST Special Publication 800-116, while enhanced read range and transaction speed help provide fast and reliable user authentication.
