The HID Signo Biometric Reader 25B is an advanced multi-technology fingerprint and credential reader designed for secure physical access control applications where biometric authentication is required. It uses HID’s patented Multispectral Imaging (MSI) fingerprint technology, which captures information from both the surface and subsurface of the finger to improve recognition performance with difficult fingerprints, including wet, dry, dirty or worn fingers. The reader supports flexible authentication methods including fingerprint-only, card/mobile credential-only, Card + Fingerprint and biometric template stored either on the credential or within the device. It also supports multiple credential technologies such as HID Seos, iCLASS SE, legacy iCLASS, MIFARE Classic, MIFARE Plus, MIFARE DESFire and HID Mobile Access through Bluetooth and NFC, making it suitable for new installations as well as migrations from existing access control systems. The Signo 25B is designed for enterprise-level performance, security and scalability. It supports 1:1 fingerprint verification and 1 identification, with capacity for up to approximately 250,000 cardholders and 5,000 users for 1 biometric identification, along with up to one million transaction event records. Connectivity options include 10/100 Ethernet, OSDP over RS-485 and Wiegand output, while OSDP Secure Channel support helps provide encrypted communication with compatible access control controllers. The reader is built for demanding environments with IP67 weather protection and IK09 impact resistance, an operating temperature range of approximately -20°C to +66°C, and a rugged mullion-mount form factor measuring around 50 × 204 × 55 mm.
