HID Signo 20K PIV Reader

The HID Signo 20K PIV Reader is a compact, narrow-profile contactless PIV reader with an integrated keypad, designed for government facilities, critical infrastructure, data centres, defence contractors and other high-security environments that require strong multi-factor authentication. Built on the HID Signo platform, it can read PIV-based contactless cards containing a Card Authentication Key (CAK) certificate when deployed with HID pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM) or pivCLASS Embedded Authentication. The reader supports a broad range of PKI-based FIPS 201 credentials, including PIV, PIV-I, CIV, CAC, TWIC and FRAC, and as part of a pivCLASS solution is designed to meet the assurance requirements defined in NIST Special Publication 800-116. Its compact mullion-style dimensions of approximately 45 × 121.5 × 21.5 mm make it particularly suitable for narrow door frames where both credential verification and keypad-based authentication are required. Supported 13.56 MHz technologies include HID Seos, iCLASS SE, iCLASS, MIFARE DESFire EV1/EV2 and MIFARE Classic, while supported 125 kHz credentials include HID Prox, Indala Prox, Dorado Prox and EM Prox. Communication with the access-control system is available through OSDP or Wiegand, allowing the reader to integrate with modern secure bidirectional controller architectures as well as compatible legacy installations. Combined with its integrated keypad, the reader can form part of a multi-factor access strategy where a physical credential is combined with a PIN or other authentication method, providing an appropriate foundation for applications where ordinary card-only access is insufficient.
