The HID Signo Keypad Reader 40K is a multi-technology, mobile-ready access control reader with an integrated keypad, designed for wall-switch-mount installations where stronger multi-factor authentication is required. It supports a wide range of credential technologies, including HID Seos, iCLASS SE, iCLASS, MIFARE DESFire EV1/EV2/EV3 and MIFARE Classic, together with legacy 125 kHz credentials such as HID Prox, Indala Prox, Dorado Prox and EM Prox. The reader also supports HID Mobile Access through native Bluetooth and NFC, as well as Apple Enhanced Contactless Polling for compatible credentials in Apple Wallet. Its built-in keypad allows organizations to implement Card + PIN or similar multi-factor authentication policies for sensitive doors and restricted areas. The reader measures approximately 80 × 121.5 × 21.5 mm, making it ideal for standard wall-switch applications. Cryptographic keys are securely stored on certified secure-element hardware, while an intelligent surface-detection feature automatically recalibrates the reader to optimize read-range performance depending on the mounting environment.
