ZKTeco EC16 & DEX16

The ZKTeco EC16 & DEX16 is a scalable elevator access control solution designed for commercial towers, residential buildings, hotels, offices, hospitals and other multi-storey facilities where access to individual floors must be controlled securely. The EC16 is ZKTeco’s second-generation elevator control panel and provides 16 dual-relay floor-control outputs as standard. It supports up to 30,000 fingerprint users, 100,000 cards and 200,000 transaction records, with authentication through RFID, fingerprint readers connected via RS485, dynamic QR codes and compatible facial-recognition terminals through ZKBio CVSecurity. Communication options include TCP/IP, USB Host, Wiegand and RS485/OSDP, while security features include AES-256 data protection, HTTPS and TLS 1.2, providing a strong foundation for enterprise elevator-access management. The DEX16 is the dedicated 16-floor expansion board for the EC16, providing an additional 16 dual-relay floor outputs per module. Up to seven DEX16 expansion boards can be connected to one EC16 through RS485, allowing a single system to scale from the EC16’s initial 16 floors to as many as 128 controlled floors. RS485 addresses are configured through DIP switches, simplifying multi-board installations, while the DEX16 operates from 12 VDC / 1 A and communicates directly with the EC16. The EC16 also provides dedicated interfaces for fire alarm, emergency input, auxiliary input/output, door open/close signals and compatible QR500/QR600 series readers, enabling the elevator system to form part of a broader access-control and building-security environment.
