Overview
The Hanwha Vision HRX-835A is a professional 8-channel 5-in-1 Pentabrid DVR designed for CCTV systems that need to combine existing coaxial cameras with newer IP surveillance technology. It supports AHD, HDTVI, HDCVI, CVBS and IP cameras, with eight analogue BNC inputs plus additional network-camera capacity for a system total of up to 10 channels, and supports camera resolutions up to 8 MP. Recording formats include H.265, H.264 and MJPEG, with recording rates reaching 30/25 fps at 2 MP and lower rates at higher 4 MP, 5 MP and 8 MP resolutions. The recorder provides up to 80 Mbps recording bandwidth, HDMI output up to 4K, VGA output, dual-monitor operation, coaxial camera control, alarm I/O, two-way audio, RS-485/422 PTZ control, P2P/QR-code setup, ARB redundancy support and integration with Wisenet Viewer, SSM, Web Viewer and mobile clients. Storage is provided through four SATA HDD bays, supporting up to 6 TB per drive / 24 TB total under Hanwha’s published specification, making the HRX-835A suitable for hotels, offices, commercial buildings, warehouses, retail sites and retrofit CCTV projects where existing analogue cabling is retained while selected IP cameras are introduced. VEGA Digital IT Solutions LLC, as a SIRA-approved CCTV/security solutions provider in Dubai and Hanwha Vision supplier and system integrator across the UAE, can design, supply, install and commission HRX-835A-based hybrid surveillance systems. Because this is a recording device rather than a camera, the exact HRX-835A should only be described as individually “SIRA Approved” when the precise recorder model, firmware and configuration are confirmed in SIRA’s current certified-equipment record; SIRA requires recorder devices to undergo device-specific approval with technical documentation and a sample. The expanded Hanwha Vision HRX family allows VEGA Digital to select recorder size and storage according to each project. The HRX-1635 is the high-capacity 16-channel Pentabrid DVR, supporting up to 18 total analogue/IP channels, 8 MP cameras, 128 Mbps recording bandwidth and eight SATA drives for up to 48 TB under its published 6 TB-per-drive specification, making it suitable for larger hybrid systems. The HRX-1634 also provides 16 analogue channels plus IP expansion to 18 total channels, but uses two SATA HDD bays, making it a more compact storage configuration. For smaller sites, HRX-435 is a 4-channel Pentabrid recorder expandable to six total channels with two SATA bays, while HRX-434 offers the same 4-channel/6-total-channel class with a single SATA HDD bay. The HRX-835 is another 8-channel Pentabrid model, while HRX-1632 provides the 16-channel class; Hanwha’s current compatibility information continues to identify HRX-434/435 as 4-channel DVRs, HRX-835/835A as 8-channel DVRs and HRX-1632/1634/1635 as 16-channel DVRs. The older HRX-420, HRX-421, HRX-820, HRX-821, HRX-1620 and HRX-1621 represent earlier 4-, 8- and 16-channel generations and are listed by Hanwha among discontinued products, so new projects should normally prioritize the current supported HRX models unless compatibility with an existing installation requires an earlier unit. For system installation and SIRA-oriented deployment, VEGA Digital first surveys the existing CCTV infrastructure to identify the number and technology of AHD/TVI/CVI/CVBS cameras, any required IP-camera additions, recording resolution and frame rate, retention period, HDD capacity, network bandwidth, monitor requirements, alarm interfaces, PTZ controls and UPS backup. Existing coaxial cameras are connected to the HRX BNC inputs, while additional compatible IP cameras are connected through the CCTV network using SUNAPI/ONVIF; engineers then configure H.265 recording, variable recording profiles, continuous/event schedules, pre/post-event recording, motion and tamper events, alarm actions, PTZ presets, user permissions, HTTPS/network security, NTP synchronization, P2P or controlled remote access and storage-health monitoring. HDMI/VGA monitoring, alarm inputs/outputs, RS-485 PTZ control and mobile/SSM connectivity are commissioned according to the approved system design.
