Johnson Controls LCI16 Lift Control Interface
Encrypted Input/Output Unit for Elevator Control of up to 16 Floors
Key Features & Functionality
Floor Access Control: Connects directly to the elevator cabin's floor selection panel to activate specific buttons based on a cardholder's verified access permissions.
Activity Tracking: Records button presses and delivers real-time monitoring and cardholder traceability of movements between floors.
System Integration: Works in conjunction with an intelligent lift controller (such as the LC400) inside the elevator car.

CEM LC400 Lift Controller
Overview
The CEM Systems LCI16 Lift Control Interface is an encrypted input/output module for secure elevator floor control, designed to work together with the LC400 Lift Controller and the AC2000 access control platform. Each LCI16 module can control up to 16 elevator floors, and multiple modules can be combined to scale the system to 128 floors. The interface uses OSDP v2 secure-channel communication, allowing encrypted data exchange between the lift interface and LC400 controller. When deployed with compatible CEM readers such as S700 or ioSmart, the solution can provide layered security including AES-128 encryption between credential and reader, OSDP v2 encryption between reader and controller, and TLS-secured communication between the LC400 and AC2000 server. The LCI16 also provides visual diagnostic LEDs for power, communication, 16 inputs and 16 outputs, while its modules can be powered directly from the LC400 to simplify cabling and reduce installation time. The related CEM LC400 Lift Controller is the intelligent controller installed for each individual lift/elevator cabin and manages which floors a cardholder is permitted to access. Out of the box it can control four floors, while integration with LCI16 or other supported I/O expansion modules increases capacity to up to 128 floors per lift. The LC400 maintains a local database of up to 250,000 card records, including credential, access-level and time-zone information, allowing it to continue validating access even if communication with the AC2000 server is temporarily lost; transactions, floor selections and alarms are stored and uploaded when communication is restored. It provides 10/100 Base-T Ethernet, TLS 1.2 communication, browser-based diagnostics, LCD status display, 12-character keypad, cabinet tamper monitoring, AC-fail and low-battery alarms, plus local and remote troubleshooting through its web dashboard. The LC400 works by validating the cardholder at the lift reader and then activating the permitted floor-selection relays through the LCI modules, while optional input monitoring can also record which floor was selected. VEGA Digital IT Solutions LLC supplies and integrates the CEM LCI16, LC400 and complete AC2000 lift-access-control solution across Dubai, the UAE and the wider Middle East. VEGA Digital can design the complete elevator-security architecture including LC400 controllers, LCI16 modules, CEM S700/ioSmart readers, smart-card credentials, lift-floor relay interfaces, AC2000 servers, Ethernet infrastructure, backup power and associated access-control equipment. System-integration services include site survey, lift-floor mapping, controller sizing, AC2000 configuration, OSDP v2 reader integration, encrypted controller communication, input/output relay programming, cardholder floor-permission setup, time-zone access rules, network configuration, fire/emergency-interface coordination, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and future expansion. Because lift interfaces vary significantly by elevator manufacturer and model, VEGA Digital would coordinate the relay and signaling requirements with the lift contractor and CEM during design so the final installation provides secure, reliable and centrally monitored floor-level access control for offices, hotels, residential towers, hospitals, airports, universities and enterprise campuses across the Middle East.
