Mercury™ LP4502 Intelligent Controller

The HID Mercury LP4502 Intelligent Controller is a high-performance, open-architecture access-control controller designed for enterprise and high-security installations requiring large databases, sophisticated integrations, and extensive system expansion. Built on an embedded Linux platform, the LP4502 directly supports up to 4 readers and 2 controlled openings, together with 8 supervised/unsupervised inputs and 4 Form-C relay outputs, and can scale through downstream Mercury interface modules to as many as 64 readers/openings. It supports approximately 2,000,000 cardholders and up to 1,024 inputs and 1,024 outputs, making it suitable for corporate headquarters, data centres, airports, hospitals, campuses, and large commercial facilities. Advanced capabilities include High Assurance Credential Authentication, OSDP Secure Channel, BACnet/IP communication, elevator destination-dispatch integration, integrated power-management analytics, IPv4/IPv6, TLS 1.2, 802.1X, data-at-rest encryption, and a USB-to-Ethernet option for redundant host communication. The broader Mercury LP Series Intelligent Controller family provides scalable options for different door densities and project architectures. The LP1501 is a compact PoE+ edge controller supporting 2 readers and 1 opening, expandable to approximately 17 readers/openings, with around 240,000 cardholders; its PoE+ capability is particularly useful for distributed single-door installations. The LP1502 directly supports 4 readers and 2 openings, expands to 64 readers/openings, and supports approximately 240,000 cardholders, making it a strong choice for conventional multi-door panels. The LP2500 is intended for larger centralized systems and has no onboard reader interfaces, instead using downstream Mercury modules to support up to 64 readers/openings, around 600,000 cardholders, and as many as 1,024 inputs and 1,024 outputs. All four LP controllers are based on Mercury's open architecture, allowing integration with access-control software from Mercury OEM partners while maintaining a consistent hardware ecosystem.
