Overview
The WatchNET VMS-2000-V2 is a powerful enterprise-class video management and centralized surveillance server designed for large CCTV projects that require scalable recording, intelligent event management and integration of multiple security subsystems through one platform. It is supplied with Linux-optimized WatchNET VMS Pro software and uses an embedded Linux architecture designed for continuous 24/7 operation. WatchNET specifies support for up to 15 hot-swappable 3.5-inch SAS/SATA hard drives, RAID 0/1/5/6/10, iSCSI storage expansion, approximately 600 Mbps video-storage bandwidth per server, four Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, three HDMI outputs and one VGA output. The detailed WatchNET performance specification provides up to 1,000 video channels on a single server, while a distributed deployment can scale to approximately 5,000 video channels across 2,500 video devices, giving the platform strong scalability for hospitals, hotels, shopping centres, universities, commercial towers, industrial facilities, logistics compounds and multi-building security systems. The VMS-2000-V2 supports WatchNET network cameras, PTZ/speed domes, NVRs, DVRs, ANPR devices, access-control systems, video door phones and alarm controllers, while standard ONVIF integration allows compatible third-party cameras to be added. Reliability features include optional redundant power supplies, two-server hot standby and N+M distributed deployment, while the integrated platform also supports maps, user/role management, playback/download management and centralized event handling. VEGA Digital IT Solutions LLC, as a SIRA-approved CCTV/security solutions provider in Dubai and organized WatchNET partner and system integrator across the UAE, can deploy the VMS-2000-V2 as the central management platform for large WatchNET CCTV and integrated-security projects. The VMS-2000-V2 goes beyond conventional video recording by combining video surveillance with advanced analytics and other security-management functions. WatchNET specifies support for up to 100 face-recognition channels, 64 heat-map channels, 100 people-counting channels, 64 ANPR channels, 20 object-detection channels, 200 access-control IP devices covering up to 512 doors, and 2,000 video-intercom IP devices in a single-system configuration. The platform supports up to 50 face libraries containing 5,000 persons, extensive event and alarm databases, hierarchical electronic maps with hundreds of device/alarm points, centralized access-control events and integration of video, alarms and personnel information. In distributed deployment, WatchNET expands the architecture to approximately 500 face-recognition channels, 320 heat-map channels, 500 people-counting channels, 320 ANPR channels and 2,500 access-controlled doors, making it suitable for enterprise campuses and large command centres requiring centralized situational awareness. From the SIRA approval perspective, WatchNET does have VMS products in the official Dubai approval ecosystem: SIRA's 31 March 2026 Recorder & VMS Approval Record specifically lists WatchNET eVMS-BLZ, version V1.0.3.20250227_060208, as an unlimited-channel approved VMS under SIRA/2025/1/08030. However, VMS-2000-V2 is the WatchNET server/appliance platform and should not automatically be described as individually SIRA Approved simply because eVMS-BLZ is certified. VEGA Digital should verify the exact VMS software version, server/appliance model and applicable SIRA certificate against the current SIRA Recorder/VMS record before final technical submission. For system installation and SIRA-oriented deployment, VEGA Digital first performs a detailed CCTV/VMS design covering the number and type of cameras, video resolutions and bitrates, recording-retention period, analytics channels, access-control doors, ANPR lanes, alarm devices, control-room operator stations, storage capacity, RAID level, network bandwidth, redundancy, rack space, cooling and UPS requirements. The VMS-2000-V2 is then installed in a standard 19-inch equipment rack, populated with enterprise surveillance-grade SAS/SATA drives and configured with the appropriate RAID, hot-spare, iSCSI or distributed-storage architecture. Core switches and dedicated CCTV VLANs are used to connect cameras, NVRs, access-control systems, ANPR cameras, intercoms and alarm controllers; where larger systems are required, VEGA Digital can configure hot standby and N+M distributed servers for higher availability. Engineers then configure device registration, recording schedules, user roles and permissions, maps, alarm rules, face recognition, people counting, ANPR, heat maps, access-control integration, NTP synchronization, playback/download rights, remote clients and cybersecurity controls. Final commissioning includes simultaneous recording/playback tests, storage and RAID checks, failover testing, network and UPS-failure testing, analytics validation, map/alarm verification and preparation of rack layouts, IP schedules, storage calculations and as-built documentation.
