Overview
The WatchNET WAB-M2-FCS is an advanced biometric fingerprint access-control terminal designed for environments requiring fingerprint, proximity-card and keypad/PIN authentication in a single device. It supports both 125 kHz proximity credentials such as HID, AWID and WatchNET formats and 13.56 MHz credentials including MIFARE and DESFire technologies. The terminal uses a semiconductor live-biometric sensor with anti-fake fingerprint detection and is designed for fast fingerprint matching. It can operate in several configurations: as a secure reader connected to a separate door controller, in online mode connected to the access-control server, or in standalone mode where the WAB-M2-FCS itself controls the door and continues operating even when network communication is unavailable. WatchNET also states that the system stores proprietary fingerprint templates rather than fingerprint images, supporting a more security-focused biometric architecture. The WatchNET biometric portfolio also includes the WAB-MP-FCS and WAB-SC-USB, allowing different biometric applications to be incorporated into the same access-control environment. The WAB-MP-FCS is a narrow-format multifunction biometric terminal combining a fingerprint sensor, proximity-card reader and built-in keypad; it can operate as a standalone single-door controller or integrate with an existing access-control system, and it can also support time-and-attendance functions such as time-in/time-out, late or early allowances and overtime management. It supports PoE over CAT5/6, multi-proximity credentials, Wiegand-based exit-reader connectivity and online/offline operation, with up to approximately 5,000 fingerprint templates stored in the terminal. The WAB-SC-USB complements these readers as a compact USB fingerprint enrollment device compatible with the WAB-M2-FCS and WAB-MP-FCS series. It uses a semiconductor anti-fake fingerprint sensor, a 400 MHz DSP, USB 5 VDC power and is designed for fast fingerprint enrollment and matching.
